I have decided to bike Colombia, or at least the stretch from Cartagena to Bogota. If you know of schools along this route that would be interested in a presentation, let me know!

Not sure where this should fit on your site, but given the topic of your trip I figured you/readers of this site might want to get really incensed. Check it out: the new “climate change isn’t a problem” ads created by an oil-industry-funded think tank: http://streams.cei.org/
The best part (besides the completely absurd “carbon dioxide – we call it life” motto) is the guy biking in the sleet – gee wouldn’t life be sooooo awful if we tried to conserve energy.
My only hope is that it seems that this carbon dioxide thing is the only, very flawed argument they can come up with! Ha ha.
RESPONSE TO STEPH: Yes, I saw those adds. I hope they are too ridiculous to make a difference, but I also encourage everyone to take a look at them, if for nothing more than a good laugh.
I am pretty optimistic that the right message is getting through to the public. From the front cover of TIME to Al Gore’s new movie, climate change has been in the news, and I think now is a great time to push for serious action on climate change.
